Are you in the job you wanted when you were a kid?

Were you a kid that knew what you wanted to be when you grew up? I'm still trying to figure out what I want to be.

What job did you want as a kid and what are you doing now?|||sort of

one time when I was insane I wanted to be a lawyer

I got over it

now that I'm insane again I just work for one and I'm not even a paralegal I've just been here forever

one time I wanted to be a ballerina and live in new york i'm way far from that

one time I wanted to be an astronaut

one time I wanted to be a marine biologist

now I don't want to be here but right now my real job is a mommy and this place is the best to be for it now. I'd like to have a job where I felt like I made a difference in someones life like I helped someone.|||Lol, I wanted to be an astronaut.

I am a geographer.

But hey I like what I do.|||NO,

I wanted to be a cartoonist, or an Indy driver, But was discouraged by my parents on both of those,

Im a loan oficer now and its good work but not for me for much longer,|||I wanted to be a ballerina and an artist.

I am a graphic designer, and I love my job, even though it is very different than the glorified romantic version of being an artist that I held as a kid.

I did not become a ballerina. I found out it is much more than just showing up in a tutu...|||I wanted to work in a music store (sell musical inst) and I have been managing a pawnshop for most of my adult life. So I guess yes, I get to play alot of cool instruments and My personal collection of guitars has grown to over 100. So I guess my answer is yes|||Actually, I am. I think that most of the time the term doctor, lawyer, etc. or put into a child's head early on. When I was younger I wanted to become a teacher, and now I am a third grade teacher. Although, I am in grad school for counselor education I think that I am still fulfilling my childhood dream.|||The job/jobs I always wanted as a kid was to be a psychologist or work with animals. As I got older I still wanted to work with animals but also began to find my artistic side. I now at 36 am a Graphic Artist and have lots of pets. So I do not think most people do what they thought as a child.|||i don't have a job now........so i want my first job........anyway i am an engineer and when i was kid i wanted to be a doctor|||No I am currently not, but I'm working towards it... I want to be a Nurse and I start school in the fall for it now. :) currently I'm a paper pusher who destroys the rain forest with paperwork it seems... Good luck! :)|||No. In fact, I don't think I had dreams of being anything when I was a kid.

I'm a geophysicist in the oil industry now. I'm still not sure what I want to be but while I'm figuring it out, I'll swim around in those oil company profits.|||the job i wanted as a child was an accountant. in college i took accounting and that quicly changed. i am in sales and thet suits my personality more now. i was in the shadows of my twin brother growing up so when i moved away i developed my own personality. sales is my nitche and i'm really good at it. its not what i wanted as a kid but its what i want now. $$$$$$$$$!!!!!!!!!!|||I'm still a kid - if being a kid means being under 21 :) . It seems as if I've always wanted to be a physician and am still working towards that goal. Many people think that choosing a career is the same as finding the key to becoming financially successful, devoting the least amount of time and effort. While I'm not an expert in these matters, I believe that these people are misguided and base the rest of their lives on what is most convenient rather than what would give them the most satisfaction. Be honest to yourself and do whatever you think will make you happiest. Consider the different aspects of each potential job (required personality traits, average income, stress level, possibility of advancement, etc.) and weigh its advantages and disadvantages according to what's most important to you. How old are you? You probably still have time before you have to make a decision. In the meanwhile, discover your interests and don't worry, everything will fit together eventually.

Why should I give a company a two week notice If you wanted to leave a job?

A company can fire anytime they want if your not living up to their standards .|||so that replacement can be arranged, if your fired you probable crap at the job and so and extra two weeks would be dire!|||The reality is you don't have to but when you don't you are less likely to have a future good reference from this employer or boss. You'd be surprised how often you run across someone you worked with in the past as you continue your career. It is common courtesy and many times if you request you can get out earlier if your position is not mission critical. As you proceed in your career you will need references and companies will check with your past employers so it is best to stay with the flow. I hope this helps you understand the reason and your long term benefit. Good luck|||If you want a reference letter from your employer for your next job or you want to use this company as a working reference you should provide 2 weeks notice.|||Because it would be unfair to your coworkers to leave with no replacement. Also you may need to be employed there again. And finally you will loose benefits if you just leave.|||when looking for a new job they may call your previous employer as a reference, also its not always smart to burn bridges, who knows one day you may want (or need) to return. We are in a recession|||That is your option but if you have accrued any vacation and comp time you will not receive a check without 2 weeks notice.

Girls: What if your husband or boyfriend asked you if you wanted to get a boob job?

And he said he would pay for it and everything, would you be mad?|||As long as he's asking me if I want one, and not telling me I need one, I'd be OK with it. I would want to know why he asked, though.

%26gt;|||I had thought he might have asked me to make ME more happy than I already am. Even if we agree, your version still makes the husband sound selfish.

|||Husband- A slap and he has to sleep on the couch for a year

Boyfriend- A slap and a break up|||I'd be angry and I would definitely not get a boob job. I'm 15, a 32C and I'm perfectly fine.|||No, but considering my natural situation, I'd wonder if anything was medically wrong with him=)|||I would be gone. He would have already had to make himself clear that he was happy with them in the first place. so... I wouldn't let that happen.|||At least he would be trying to get a job.|||Yes, i'd be mad at him for suggesting it, as if he thinks i need one.|||I would be mad. Then I would go ninja on his a*s.|||He'd be out the door...|||I'd be mad... he has to be happy with the mosquito bites I have for boobs|||as long as its a reduction....|||My answer %26gt; .||.|||well he would never be seeing them again.|||nah, i'd be like hell yeah mofo

If you could snap your fingers and get any job in the world you wanted right now, what job would you pick?

Keep in mind, just because you get the job doesn't mean you won't get fired for incompetence.|||I would love to work for the SWAT team or FBI. I think it would be very interesting catching crooks!|||Stripper|||govenor general of australia|||THe boss of Disney|||Lawyer =D

And I would be damn good at it. I have plenty of family members to help if I need it ^_^|||A dog stylist|||CEO|||Porn Star|||I'm happy with the job I hold now.|||does the son of a billionaire count as a job?

Would you commute 1 hour each way for a job you REALLY wanted?

first of all, i've been looking for a job for 3 months.

i received a reply from a job that i want desperately. i've been trying to get into the veterinary feild for years and got a reply from a vet's office.

the only catch is that it's an hour away...so that would make it a 2 hour commute total.

the schedule is 4 - 10hr. shifts a week.

do you think that's worth it?|||Absolutely, it is worth it. It may seem daunting at first, but in the long run if it is something you truly want, you should do it.

Congratulations and good luck|||An hour really isnt that bad of a commute. It also depends on how much you are getting paid, and how much it costs to commute there.

If you are spending more than $40-$50 a week in gas, then it may not be worth it.

If you are taking public transportation, then it could be worth it, because it doesnt cost all that much.

It might help you out if you get the job, and then move closer to work.

I always live within a 10 minute drive of where I work....I hate commuting.

Once you get used to the commute, you wont even think about the time you are travelling.|||How much does it cost you to drive to work everyday. After gas in taken out of your paycheck, how much do you have left? Is this enough for bills and savings? If so, I would take the drive because its something I would absolutley enjoy. Then later you will have the experience to find something closer to home. Make sure this is reasonable financially though.|||depends how much it paid~it would have to pay for more than gas

I had to drive for field experience over an hour away~it wasn't too bad. I kind of find driving relaxing, so to answer your question, yes, I would.

If i had a lorry job in the UK and i wanted to travel the world, would it be possible to take my dog with me ?

Can it be done or not ? I don't mean stay there for long time e.g. I have to deliver in Belgium or somewhere close and say it would only take 2 days at the most ?? Thanks!|||If you can find a place to stay where they will allow dogs in Belgium then yes.

#|||Unfortunately animals crossing borders tends to be a big no no. Often times they must be kept in a crate under supervision for weeks at a time. Not to mention many shots.|||If you had a job as a lorry driver in the UK you would know the answer would be NO.

Sorry but there is no way you can transport a dog between the EU and UK without the dog having a pet passport - they take at least 6 months to obtain and your dog would have to be tested again before it comes back into the UK - so no sorry not possible in that scenario.|||i think you would be okay depending on where you want to bring him ... your dog would need a pet passport (can take up to 6 months to get one) but it would be good in europe ... belgium is included ... google pet travel scheme or pet passport for the rules and locations ..|||Apart from the passport issue.......you'll find that dogs are *not* allowed into the ports. And depending on what you are hauling......most employers do not allow dogs. My husband's an HGV driver and would love to take one of his dogs, but sadly he can't.....and he's not even going abroad, just going into the ports.
