How did you know what job you wanted?

I'm 15 years old and I have absolutely NO idea what I want job I want when I'm older. I mean I have to start applying to colleges in like two years and I want to go to a college that will help me with my career. For those of you that already graduated college and has a job, how did you figure out what you wanted to do in life?|||I fell into my career by accident|||i think you'll figure it out eventually.

think about what's most important out of these that you would like in your job: like, self achievement, how interested you are in it, leisure, money, etc.

i believe most undergraduate colleges offer similar choices of majors... so it really doesn't make that big of a difference which college you go to.|||I'm 20 and I think it is a myth that eveyrone has a calling for a certain career. If there weren't 'losers' like me, the people with a calling couldn't live their lives of luxury. I like retail and no one's gonna make me feel bad for not going to college, cuz I'm happy, and that my friend is the point. :)|||I didn't know what I wanted to do until after I finished at one college and traveled to Puerto Rico as a missionary. Then I knew I wanted to get involved with teaching music, which I now do part time. But I have had at least 20 jobs over the years (including temporary jobs) doing other things. Maybe you could try temp jobs and see if anything appeals to you as you go.|||Remember this there are 2 differences between a career and job





Career - something you enjoy doing and you can stick with


Job - Something that you really don't want to work but you have no other to get paid until some better comes up, including work style and the payrate (McDonald's, Wal-Mart, etc)|||for me, i want to be a chef, or something that has to do with cooking, i love to cook, i'm only 16 years old and my father already have settled my job after college, so maybe it depends on what you want to do, or what you love to do, but again, not all can get their dream job,|||MIHAWK|||never knew and never will|||you just keep doing things you like|||i still don't.. and im 24 years old
