I really wanted to get a job in retail for the holiday season. Unfortunately the job I really wanted sent me a letter today stating that due to a high number of applicants, I did not get hired. I went to the interview and I was a little nervous and I think that may have cost me the job.
I was thinking about reappling after the holidays are over, Will they look down on me for doing so?|||First I would cal the management team and find out why you didnt get hired in the first place. Instead of wasting your time filing out another application. They had to of had their reasons for not hiring you. Also you may want to ask if their are any other postions in that department that you may qualify for. That way you can learn the position that you didnt get and maybe one day be able to apply for it later. Also, experience helps so if you dont have experience in that department it may be a reason you werent chosen for it. Hope it helps... good luck to you|||What harm could it do, you could send a resume again, but then I would leave it, as they may get annoyed if you kept trying. You have a good reason to send your application again because you did get an interview before.
Good luck|||No they certainly won't look down upon it. Actually when I got my first job as a paperboy, they gave it to me due to my persistence even though I was only 11.
But I recommend that you apply to many places and do not bank on one place. Also the prospects of getting a job at a retail place after the holidays are probably the lowest as they will give priority to temp workers for permanent jobs. So apply to many places and do not stop until you have a job. Do not even stop applying if you have an interview. You would rather have a job and decline an interview than not have one.|||It does not hurt to reapply. You may also apply to other retail establishments. Just because you want to work somewhere does not mean they want to hire you. You may need to expand your search.
You should look at this last interview as a learning experience. Before your next interview, try to take a different approach than you did in this last interview. Relax...|||I would ring the employer or recruitment agency and ask for feedback as to how you could improve your chances of success in similar roles. this way you are maintaining your dignity, learning from the experience and also indicating to the emplyer/recruitment agency that you are passionate about the type of role/position you went for. Re-sending your resume without any feedback is probably not seen as professional.
