In the Bourne Trilogy What Kind Of Job did Jason Bourne Have before he was wanted?

If its a fictional job whats the closest thing to it.|||David Webb was a high-profile marine (a foreign service official and a specialist in Far Eastern affairs) before he joined a Top Secret Special Forces unit called Medusa to avenge the death of his wife and children. Medusa performed assassinations for the US Government. So he was an assassin for the government. He later killed the real Jason Bourne, who was also a member of Medusa, thus also an assassin, but one who turned out to be a double agent. David Webb then took on the name Jason Bourne and continued to work as an assassin.


So he used to be a marine and then an assassin for the US Government.


(Robert Ludlum only wrote the three books in the trilogy. Eric Van Lustbader wrote 6 other sequels; in the fourth one David Webb (Jason Bourne) works at Georgetown University as a professor in linguistics.
